UAB’s Braintrust Adds Artificial Intelligence to Fraud Fight

The $430 million asset bank has licensed anti-money laundering and fraud detection software form Verafin that uses a behavior-based approach that relies on artificial intelligence to seek out unusual behaviors. The software analyzes transactions and looks for patterns of behavior that are unusual for the customer or are indicative of money laundering.

Future Internet Browsers Will Have Artificial Intelligence to Make Multimedia Searchable By Automatic Annotation

That’s the challenge that the EU-funded research project BOEMIE (for Bootstrapping Ontology Evolution with Multimedia Information Extraction). They’ve now shown that by using state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to build and then refine highly structured knowledge bases, they can automatically or semi-automatically identify, analyze and index almost any multimedia content.
